Listing and Directory Information
Q: What is a Pasifika-Owned business, and why do we care?
A: A Pasifika-Owned business or organization is one whose owner or owners are of Pacific Islander decent (i.e., from the Micronesian, Melanesian, or Polynesian regions of the Pacific Ocean). Our organizations are historically under-resourced in the United States, so PacBiz is working to help turn the tide.
Q: Does a business have to be Pasifika-Owned to be included in the directory?
A: Not necessarily. The PacBiz directory focuses on small businesses and organizations that are Pasifika-Owned and Pacific Islander-serving—that is, businesses that tailor goods and services to the Pacific Islander community and organizations that name Pacific Islanders in their mission statements.
Q: How can I add a Pasifika-Owned badge to my listing?
A: When creating or claiming your listing, you had the option of identifying the organization as Pasifika-Owned. The badge should appear when your listing is approved. If it didnʻt appear, let us know through the Contact form, making sure to include the name of the organization or business.
Q: Is it free to add my business or organization?
A: YES! We offer free (and, coming soon, premium) listing options. Free listings include essential info, while premium plans will offer more exposure and features. For now, itʻs all free, so take good advantage!
Q: Can I add a business or organization that I don’t own or run?
A: YES! Help your favorite Pasifika-owned business or organization get more traffic by adding a listing using publicly available information. We’ll then follow up with an invitation to the owner to claim the page!
Q: How long does it take for a listing to be approved?
A: Listings are usually reviewed and approved within 24–48 hours.
Q: What if my business is listed, but I didn’t add it?
A: That means we or a user pre-added your listing. You can Claim Listing to take control. Visit our Getting Started page to find out how!
Q: Can I edit my listing after it’s published?
A: Yes! Once youʻve claimed your listing, you can update it anytime from your profile. Log into your account, then select the My Profile button to access your profile.
